Thalakkulam village is located in the Kanyakumari district, three kilometers from Thingalchanda.  The majestic 12 room house of Veluthambi located there is built entirely of teak.  Due to lack of care, it is not in use and the roof has penetrated into many areas.  The house is currently under the Chitrakala Trust.  Although the family members usually go to the nearby Bhadrakali temple, the house is left unattended.  Recently some college students removed the thorns around the house.

In 2009, Kanyakumari Tourism Officer Hari Radhakrishnan launched a Rs 50,000 renovation project.  40 lakhs.  Five gazebos, parking lots, toilets and masthead lights were installed.  All of these are now rusting.  A full-scale sculpture of the historical hero was erected by the Foundation, but has not been opened until now.
